There are different types of braces. Conventional metal brackets are the cheapest. These are the most recognizable braces from childhood. Metal braces are often the only option, especially for severe dental complications. Although these braces are strong, many find them unattractive. To add spice, some opt for gold, colorful, or some other form of brackets; It is very popular among young people because they see braces as a form of jewelry.

Once metal brackets are placed in the mouth, they can cause gingivitis for several weeks while the gums adjust to the metal parts.

If there are no major dental problems and the patient does not need very strong braces, the dentist can offer colored braces. Although the tooth-colored brackets are larger than the metal brackets, they are barely noticeable. This is because the brackets are transparent or white. Braces are glued to the teeth and secured with clear elastic wire, but the wires are prone to staining and can become visible over time.

Braces that are completely invisible are lingual braces. They are suitable only for adults, as they can cause great discomfort when worn. The possible reason for the pain is the placement of braces. Unlike traditional and ceramic braces, braces are placed behind the teeth, not in front.
